This course will focus on effective techniques for capturing, managing and refining digital photo images. Students will explore the features of their cameras and basic artistic principals of photography to improve their skill as photographers. They will use Photoshop Elements to work with images in their accumulated digital libraries to learn techniques of correction, enhancement, and artistic manipulation of images in preparation for printing and web presentation. The final projects will be prepared for gallery display and web presentation.
Students are required to have a digital camera (with instruction manual) on the first day of class with adequate storage media. Equipment must be pre-approved with the teacher. Some cameras may be available for students who don't own one. In addition to miscellaneous materials, printing, gallery mounting materials, and field trip transportation will be covered by the course fee. ($75 fee)
